ABRC Lifeguard Job Description
As a lifeguard at the ABRC pool, your primary responsibility is to provide a safe swimming environment for our pool patrons. This includes accident prevention, rescuing individuals in danger of drowning, providing first aid and/ or CPR when necessary. In addition, lifeguards are required to perform routine pool and facility maintenance, assist in the snack bar, assist with special event set-up and take-down, and assist with the enforcement of facility rules. Lifeguards are also required to attend mandatory in-service training.
Applicants must hold a current ARC Lifeguard Training certification, along with an ARC First Aid/ CPR certification. Work permits are required for applicants under the age of sixteen (16) and may be obtained through the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry. The link can be found on the ABRC website.
